About
I’ve been watching my cholesterol creeping up and up every year. And railing against the dying of the light….
When I was in my mid-20s, I ate pretty much whatever I wanted, had under 10% bodyfat and a total cholesterol of 160. Now at 44, even with a life-long committment to fitness, I find my cholesterol pushing 240, with low HDL (the good stuff) and high LDL (the bad stuff).
On my last visit to the family doctor, he wanted to put me on Lipitor. I wasn’t ready for that. So this blog is to chronicle my efforts to lower my cholesterol without having to resort to statins.
By posting my efforts, I hope I can help some other people learn some things they might be able to do to lower their cholesterol and improve their lipid profile.
I’ll also be posting a bunch of fitness related stuff as well, mostly related to to weight training. I’m no certified personal trainer, but I’ve been in the gym pumping iron for almost three decades. I’ve had plenty of time to try things out and form opinions, which I’ll be sharing onthis site.
So if you’re looking to lower your cholesterol with supplements, or want some good information on weight training, you’ve come to a good place.
